Looking through the promotions for IBM’s last quarter of the year – I noticed this offer for existing IBM XIV clients.
In essence – if you have a current Gen 2 with 2TB or 3TB drives but you have not filled the systems with modules – you can fill them at a price of £1k per TB. There are some conditions of the offer – as you have to fill the rack completely For example if 9 modules installed, you would have to purchase 6 modules and if you have 12 modules installed you would have to purchase only 3 modules. However, if you are looking to increase capacity over the next few months – this could be a great way of maximising your initial IBM XIV investment.
