Recarta sales director, Toby Harris and I recently returned from an annual pilgrimage to the Alps, more or less unscathed.
This time, the French resort of La Plagne was chosen for a few days, due to the high altitude skiing and virtual guarantee of snow so late in the season.
We thought we were fairly experienced but were eclipsed on the slopes by the fearless Emily, age 10, daughter of Toby, who seemed to be able to transfer her ruthlessly competitive ice hockey skills to the slopes to carve up the old boys and show how it was done!
Emily jumped, carved and weaved all around the mountain to show her old man up in style and a fantastic long weekend was had by all in the group. Brilliant sunshine was enjoyed all weekend, though this caused the snow conditions to deteriorate a bit, especially in the afternoons. Naturally, the day after we left, the heavens apparently opened, covering the resort with the much needed white stuff. Still, those who arrived after us would not have gained such a nice flavour of sunburn!
We are already looking forward to next year’s trip and watch this space for more Recarta sporting news!
