Three weeks into my new role as a Client Director at Recarta IT, I’ve been on a steep and exciting learning curve – especially as I begin to explore the capabilities of IBM, one of our strategic technology partners.
I’ve stepped into a whole new world of enterprise technology and yesterday joined the IBM Power 11 launch. Even as someone new to IBM, I could tell this platform is a real game changer.

What is IBM Power 11?

From what I’m seeing, anyone looking for big performance without sacrificing reliability will want to take a closer look.

IBM promises “six nines” availability—that’s 99.9999% uptime. Virtually no planned downtime and only about 30 seconds of unexpected downtime a year. Features like automatic patching, smart workload shifting and AI-powered monitoring mean businesses can stay up and running, no matter what. For our clients in finance, healthcare, or manufacturing, this level of reliability is huge.
Super-fast ransomware threat detection
Power 11 also has built-in quantum-safe cryptography and a new ransomware detection tool called IBM Power Cyber Vault, which can identify threats in under a minute. This is enterprise-grade security, designed for todays and tomorrow’s challenges, giving serious peace of mind in today’s cyber world.
AI built right in
What really excites me is how Power 11 is made for AI workloads. It has on-chip AI acceleration and can scale with the IBM Spyre Accelerator. Plus, it works with Red Hat OpenShift AI and lots of open-source tools.
It is built to provide the flexibility and performance needed for companies to run AI smoothly across hybrid cloud setups without breaking a sweat.
Efficient IT that saves time and money.
Beyond the smart automation and security, Power 11 is energy efficient. It offers twice the performance per watt compared to similar x86 servers. It even has an Energy Efficient Mode that’s up to 28% more efficient than its max performance setting. More power, less energy, lower costs. Win-win.
